  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Use the service lawfully and responsibly.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be assigned to you.

Accounts are intended for individual use unless Winfolio expressly introduces organisational or team functionality.

You must not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorised to use.

4. Your Content and Ownership

Your achievements belong to you.

You retain ownership of the professional information and materials you enter into Winfolio, including your:

  • Achievement records and original notes.
  • Goals and progress updates.
  • Feedback records.
  • Professional examples and supporting evidence.
  • Uploaded documents and materials.
  • Saved career narratives and exports, subject to any rights belonging to third parties.

By submitting content, you grant Winfolio a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, display and transform that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and support the service, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to Winfolio.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the information you provide.

5. Workplace Confidentiality and Third-Party Information

Winfolio is designed to help you document your professional contribution, but you must respect your employer’s and other parties’ confidentiality obligations.

You agree not to upload or record information where doing so would breach:

  • Applicable law.
  • Your employment or contractual obligations.
  • Confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements.
  • Another person’s privacy rights.
  • Intellectual property rights.
  • Information security policies that lawfully apply to you.

When recording feedback from colleagues, managers or clients, you are responsible for ensuring that you have a lawful and appropriate basis to include any personal information about them.

Where possible, avoid including unnecessary names, confidential project details, customer information or commercially sensitive metrics.

Winfolio does not independently verify your authority to disclose workplace information.

6. AI-Assisted Features

Winfolio provides AI-powered features to help you improve the clarity, structure and presentation of your professional achievements. These features may generate:

  • Achievement rewrites.
  • Suggested impact statements.
  • Questions to help identify missing metrics.
  • Performance review summaries.
  • CV bullets and interview examples.
  • Professional development narratives.

6.1 AI outputs are suggestions

AI-generated material is provided for your review and may contain errors, omissions or inappropriate wording. You must check that all statements accurately reflect your experience and are supported by genuine evidence.

6.2 No fabricated achievements

You must not knowingly use Winfolio to create or distribute false claims about professional qualifications, achievements, responsibilities, results or employment history. Winfolio aims to help users express genuine achievements clearly, not invent accomplishments.

6.3 Human review

You are responsible for deciding whether to accept, edit, reject, export or share AI-generated content. AI suggestions do not independently establish the truth of a professional claim.

6.4 Third-party AI processing

Our AI features rely on an external provider, so relevant content is processed by that provider to fulfil your request, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Winfolio in a lawful, respectful and secure manner.

You must not:

  • Access or attempt to access another user’s private account or records.
  • Misrepresent professional achievements, qualifications or experience.
  • Upload content that violates another person’s rights.
  • Submit malware, malicious scripts or harmful code.
  • Interfere with the platform’s operation or security.
  • Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls or usage restrictions.
  • Use automated tools to overload, scrape or exploit the service without permission.
  • Reverse-engineer protected elements of the service except where permitted by applicable law.
  • Resell or commercially exploit access to Winfolio without authorisation.
  • Use the service to harass, discriminate against or unlawfully target others.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate action to protect the platform and its users.

8. Privacy and Account Security

Your use of Winfolio is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

We use authentication and technical access controls designed to protect personal accounts and prevent unauthorised access.

You are responsible for choosing secure credentials and protecting access to your account. You should not share your login credentials with other people.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact info@techbor.co.uk.

9. Exporting and Sharing Content

Winfolio allows you to export or copy achievements, feedback summaries and generated career documents.

You are responsible for reviewing exported content before using it in applications, performance reviews, presentations, salary discussions or other professional contexts.

Once you share content outside Winfolio, we cannot control how recipients use, store or redistribute it.

You must ensure that exported materials do not disclose confidential or unauthorised information.

10. Availability and Changes to the Service

We aim to provide a reliable and useful service, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

Winfolio may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security incidents or third-party infrastructure failures.

We may add, improve, modify or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any commitments we have made to users.

Where reasonably practical, we will provide notice of significant changes that materially affect the service. If we ever close Winfolio, we’ll give you notice and time to export your data.

11. Fees and Future Paid Features

Winfolio is currently in a private, invite-only beta and is free to use. There are no paid plans and we never ask for payment details.

If paid plans are introduced in the future, we will publish the relevant prices, billing terms, cancellation arrangements and other required information before users enter into paid subscriptions.

We will not charge you merely because you have an existing Winfolio account without an applicable purchase or payment authorisation.

12. Intellectual Property

The Winfolio name, branding, website design, application software, interfaces and other proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to the Winfolio operator, except where otherwise stated.

These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the service in accordance with its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Winfolio’s software, trademarks or other proprietary materials.

Your own content remains yours, as described in Section 4.

13. No Guarantee of Career Outcomes

Winfolio helps you organise evidence of your work and communicate your professional value. However, we do not guarantee that using Winfolio will result in:

  • A promotion or salary increase.
  • A successful job application.
  • A positive performance review.
  • An interview or job offer.
  • Employer recognition or any particular career outcome.

Career decisions are made by employers, recruiters and other third parties over whom Winfolio has no control. You remain responsible for your professional decisions and the accuracy of the information you present.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

We aim to provide Winfolio with reasonable care and skill.

However, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every individual purpose.

AI-generated outputs and analytical summaries may be inaccurate or incomplete and should be independently reviewed.

Nothing in these Terms removes statutory rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

Subject to those protections, Winfolio is not responsible for losses arising solely from inaccurate information supplied by a user, professional decisions made by third parties, or a user’s failure to review AI-generated material.

16. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Winfolio at any time, and you can delete your account in Settings → Privacy & data.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address:

  • Serious or repeated breaches of these Terms.
  • Fraud or unlawful activity.
  • Security threats or unauthorised access.
  • Misuse that harms other users or the service.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that must reasonably survive termination.

17. Data Deletion Following Termination

When your account is deleted, we will handle associated personal information according to our Privacy Policy and applicable retention obligations.

We recommend exporting any professional records you wish to keep before deleting your account, using Settings → Privacy & data → Export your data. During the beta, please keep your own copy of anything important.

18. Third-Party Services

Winfolio relies on certain third-party technologies to provide authentication, hosting, database services and AI functionality. These providers may be subject to their own terms and privacy notices.

We are not responsible for unrelated third-party websites accessed through external links on our public website.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Winfolio, applicable law or our business operations. We will publish the updated Terms with a revised effective date.

Where changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain renewed agreement where required by law.

If you do not agree with updated Terms, you may stop using the service and delete your account.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.

We encourage users to contact us first so that we can try to resolve concerns informally.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising statutory rights or pursuing remedies available under applicable law.
